Summer hall

Summer Hall (b. 1997) is a ceramic artist from North Alabama pursuing an MFA in Visual Studies at the University of Missouri. Hall received her BFA in Ceramics from the University of North Alabama in 2020, formerly worked as a member of Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, and completed a one-year residency at Access Arts in 2023. She is a recipient of the Donald L. Bartlett Scholarship Fund, as well as the Windgate University Fellowship partnered with Arrowmount School of Craft. Her works have been exhibited in spaces across the United States.
Hall's statement: "My work forms a bridge between the poetic and tangible. Each piece presents a visual narrative, rooted in my own experience, and gains a new life through those who view it. The concepts of my work are born from the themes of my writing. I find a certain vulnerability in the act of writing poetry and use that as a way to invite new motifs into my work. The implementation of bright colors and patterns, skewed perspective, and child-like line work serve to create a sense of whimsy when making. "
