My work forms a bridge between the poetic and functional - exploring the intimacy of use and permanence. Each piece presents a visual narrative, rooted in my own experience, and gains a new life through those who use it. The illustrated surfaces of my work are born from the themes of my writing. I find a certain vulnerability in the act of writing poetry and use that as a way to invite new motifs into my work. The implementation of bright colors and patterns, skewed perspective, and child-like line work serve to create a sense of whimsy when making. My illustrations adopt a graphic quality and draw inspiration from domestic life and the female form.
